Rompers will forever hold a special place in my heart because they are what started Gentle Adeline. I love the timeless style and how they can easily transition through the seasons by adding layers. You can achieve so many different looks from one beautiful piece. The concept of a capsule wardrobe has become a growing trend over the years and I think it's really neat. I have been rocking a capsule wardrobe since before it was cool because we've never had a lot of money. I've always been about quality over quantity. I would rather buy one beautiful piece that can be styled multiple ways and passed down than a dozen pieces that might not make it through one wash cycle. I apply these same values when I'm designing and sewing pieces for Gentle Adeline.
I wanted to take you behind the scenes so you can see what goes into each piece. One thing that I have come to accept over the years is that I will never be a fast seamstress. I am a perfectionist and I can't cut corners. Sewing is also a form of therapy for me so when I rush, it's no longer relaxing and enjoyable. Each piece takes me a couple of hours to make from cutting, sewing, adding buttonholes/buttons, and finally hammering snaps. I have always preached that the inside of your clothes should be just as beautiful as the outside. I hope you enjoyed taking a peek behind my little shop!
